My Story
I started using VR as my primary form of exercise back at the end of 2019 start of 2020. Four years later, it is still my primary cardio exercise. I play VR games to work out almost every single day. I've always struggled with my weight and keeping up workout regiments because honestly, they suck. Working out is boring and hard and my ADHD brain just couldn't stick with it. VR workouts though, have actually managed to keep me motivated and engaged and look forward to working out every day.
In the two years, combined with a healthy change in diet, I lost over 100 lbs. by playing VR games for roughly an hour a day. I went from 300 lbs. to 190 in a little under 2 years. I have since then moved to just 30 minutes a day due to time restrictions but I still look forward to it and still manage to stick with it.
I am currently in the best shape of my life. Growing up I was the kid who would do the required mile run in high school by walking slowly and finishing in like 25 minutes because I honestly couldn't do it. Now, I can run a 9 minute mile and be ready for more. its fantastic.
After trying all the options I started to get frustrated and set out to make my own boxing game so I could cater it to what I wanted to get out of a workout. Over time it’s become a real game called Shadow BoXR. So I decided to try to share it with other people in hopes that it can help them improve their health too!
